About Me

My photo
I've been a crafter for as long as I can remember. I think even when I was very young and watching my mother sew and crochet, I was storing information for future use. I've recently been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis, but despite that, I'm going to be a crafter forever.

Where have I been?

I can't believe it has been so long since I last blogged. Oh my, where has the time gone? It went into a cloud of  medicated fogginess for real. Now that it's almost over, I can laugh about it, haha!

It was early October. I got up early and spent time drinking coffee with my husband as he was getting ready for work. I love this quality time. We spend it discussing plans for the day. And this particular morning I was excited about driving the new car that he bought for me the evening before.

I couldn't wait to drive it and the only thing I could think to do was go yarn shopping :) He left for work and I went through my projects deciding what yarns I needed to purchase. I could only find one color that I needed and with the yarn store only 3 blocks away, it could have waited until later. But hey, I had to find some excuse to drive, lol. I stuffed my cell in my pocket, had my wallet in one hand and keys in the other. I walked outside, smiling as I looked at my new car in the driveway :)

For those of you that don't know, I have arthritis in most of my joints. The worst is in my feet and on good days I have a pretty good limp. On better days, my foot doesn't bend and my toes will sometimes get caught on the ground. This must have been a better day.

Looking at my car and thinking of the one skein of yarn I was going after, I started off the porch. Well part of me did. My faithful foot decided it wanted to stay on the top of the porch. After a slow-motion moment, lol, I found myself sitting 3 steps down with my leg behind my back.

Luckily my neighbor seen me fall and next thing I know there was a firetruck, police and ambulance in my front yard. It took them all of 2 minutes to get here and another 2 to get me in the ambulance. I'll never forget looking out that back window, the sound of sirens in the background. And my brand new car, still sitting in the driveway, fading in the distance :(

Later that evening.... (sorry I couldn't find a pic that didn't have the puppy in it. She was always laying by my leg)

It's been almost 5 months now and I still have 6 of 10 weeks of physical therapy to go. I  think my occasional limp is going to be permanent now but  at least I can walk and finally driving my new car :)

So, now to get caught up on blogging. I had plenty of time to work on crocheting and I have a ton of photos that I would like to share.
